This course is exclusively for HR professionals and those in charge of any return-to-work processes within the workplace. This course is led by experienced HR and Recovery Confident experts, who will enable you to support the health and well-being of those returning to work after a relapse.
Empower your employees to feel safe, secure and wanted, enabling them to stay in work, thrive within their field and most importantly stay clean and sober.
Empower your HR team to:
- Understand the conditions that those in recovery need in order to flourish when they return to work
- Built their own toolkit to apply in a range of return-to-work scenarios
- Learn to provide practical support to managers who are dealing with employees on their return to work after a relapse

Format
- This online training course is delivered across 2 x 3.5-hour live sessions via Zoom
- Learners must complete two hours of independent learning prior to each of the live sessions
- This course can be delivered to between 8-12 people to allow for engaging discussion

Module 1: About the employee and you
Individual learning (2 hours) – must be completed prior to live session:

Live session (3 hours 30 minutes):

- Conditions for Thriving framework
- Role of identity
- Mental Health Continuum
- Responses to change
- Empowering skilled conversations using empathy and coaching
- The Five Stages of Return-to-Work model
- Mental health action plans and reasonable adjustments
- Case studies and practice
- Post-work reflective practice
Module 2: About the organisation and bringing it together
Individual learning (2 hours) – must be completed prior to live session:
- Mental health self-care kit
- Your Stress Container – identify positive coping strategies
- Complex case study
- Refresh of Conditions for Thriving framework and the Five Stages of Return to Work model
- Reading list (optional)
